How we picked
The pool for this guide holds 144 priced listings across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC handhelds, with the lower-priced plug-and-play and retro tier left out. From that pool, 11 consoles were chosen to keep a spread of at least 2 and at most 4 from each platform family, and to avoid near-duplicate models. The picks are compared on stated details and live prices. They are ranked first by stated storage (largest first), then by stated screen size (largest first, for handhelds), then by the order in the original pool for listings that do not state storage. This guide makes no claim beyond what each listing states: it does not report frame rates, battery life, or game libraries, because the catalogue has no data for them.
How to choose
Pick the family first
The platform family (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or PC handheld) is the first decision because games and accessories are chosen for that family. This guide keeps at least 2 and at most 4 picks from each family so each gets a fair look.
Home console or handheld
Home consoles like the Xbox Series X or PS5 are designed to sit by a TV, while handhelds such as the Lenovo Legion Go S bring a screen with them. Hybrid consoles like the Switch 2 are described for both uses. Decide where you will play.
Disc or digital edition
Some titles state a disc drive, others are digital only. If you already own physical discs, a disc edition matters; if you buy downloads, a digital edition is enough. The choice is stated in each listing.
Storage: what the number means
Storage is the room for your installed content. The numbers in this guide run from 4TB down to 512GB. A larger number gives more space, but no game sizes are stated here, so choose a capacity that feels right.
What a bundle means
A listing marked as a bundle says extra items come in the box. Read the listing for the exact items. This guide does not list them or judge their worth.
Questions
Does this guide cover game libraries, frame rates or battery life?
No. The catalogue only holds the details each listing states: brand, platform, line, form, edition, storage, screen size for handhelds, OLED, and bundle status. The site does not guess performance numbers or game counts.
How are the picks ordered?
Picks are ranked first by stated storage from largest to smallest, then by stated screen size from largest to smallest for handhelds, then by the order in the pool for listings that do not state storage.
Can I connect a handheld to a TV?
That depends on the console. The listing states whether it is Handheld, Home, or Hybrid. This guide repeats only what the title says.
Why is the Nintendo Switch 2 listed with no storage?
The seller's title for that listing does not state a storage capacity. Per the rules, the guide does not guess a missing detail.
What does 'not stated by the seller' mean?
It means the listing does not give that detail, such as storage, screen size, or a bundle. The guide leaves it blank rather than inventing a figure.
